In addition to tuition fees, other fees must be paid including (1) Actual costs for practicums, (2) Teaching materials, (3) Support Group fees, (4) Accident Insurance for students pursuing education and research, (5) Premiums for Japan Nursing School Benefit Association Insurance ‘Will’, (6) Costs for infectious disease testing and immunizations.<\/p>\n

(1) Actual costs for practicums<\/h2>\n

Costs must be paid for white coats\/shoes used for practicums, as well as costs for tests taken prior to practicums, and the actual cost of transport and accommodation necessary for participating in practicums on each occasion.
\n However, since there may be a cost disparity between practicum locations in terms of transport and accommodation choices, the Support Group fees help to correct these disparities to a degree (as explained in (3)).<\/p>\n

(2) Purchase of teaching materials<\/h2>\n

Textbook fees are to be borne by the individual.<\/p>\n

(3) Support Group fees (excludes Graduate School students)<\/h2>\n

At IPNU there is a Support Group organization set up for the purpose of better student welfare (members are guardians or guarantors of IPNU students).
\n The Support Group supports the Student’s Association\/University festival\/club activities and provides assistance for transport costs necessary for practicums outside of the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

(4) Accident Insurance for students pursuing education and research (‘Gakkensai’)<\/h2>\n

Accident Insurance for students pursuing education and research is a nationwide level accident insurance system in which insurance is paid out if a student sustains a physical injury as a result of a sudden, unforeseen accident occurring during education and research activities or during travel between home and school\/university facilities, or when travelling to practical training facilities outside of school\/university (see also the leaflet about enrolling for Accident Insurance for students pursuing education and research).
\n At IPNU, all students are enrolled at the time of admission.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

(5) Premiums for Nursing School General Insurance (‘Will’) (Voluntary for Graduate School students)<\/h2>\n

Nursing School General Insurance (‘Will’) is insurance from the Japan Nursing School Benefit Association.
\n This general insurance system is an insurance system with broad support for the student life of nursing students, including cover for accidents causing injury during off-site practical training, for accidents causing injury at university or at university events, and accidents during travel to practical training facilities. During practical nursing training, there are times when students are in locations when unexpected accidents or injuries can occur, thus all undergraduate students are expected to sign up for this insurance for the duration of their time at university (voluntary for Graduate School students).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

*Immunizations are not given on campus. However, in the case that criteria are not met in the antibody titer tests for measles\/rubella\/mumps\/chickenpox, an immunization is required at the student’s medical institution of choice. A fee is required for immunizations and this varies between medical institutions (one immunization is about 4,000-8,000 yen).<\/p>\n

*In the hepatitis virus test, if the HBs antibody does not test positive, a Hepatitis B vaccine (3 separate doses) is required at the student’s medical institution of choice.<\/p>\n
